TARGET MEETINGS

Like our colleagues at GP practices across West Hampshire, the GPs and nursing staff at this practice are very keen to keep our knowledge and skills up to date so that we can provide you and your family with the best possible care.

So, twice a year, we get together with colleagues from other local GP practices for an afternoon to refresh our knowledge and discuss local health care issues. This means that, on these dates, no GPs or nurses will be available to see patients and so this surgery will be closed.

This surgery will be closed on Tuesday2nd June 2015 at 12.00pm  while the clinical and nursing staff attend one of these twice-yearly meetings.   The surgery will re-open as usual the following morning.

You will be able to telephone the surgery while it's closed to arrange an appointment and all our online services will continue to work as usual.

If you have any queries about this, please speak to one of our Reception staff.

If you require non urgent advice in this time please ring 111.  In the case of an emergency please dial 999.

Dementia Awareness week - 17th - 23rd May 2015

Please visit the West Hampshire Clinical Commissining Group website to see how people in West Hampshire are dealing with Dementia www.westhampshireccg.nhs.uk/your-health/dementia-awareness-campaign-2015

Patient Feedback

We have responded to patient feedback and will be opening the surgery doors between 1-2 pm on 15th June 2015 so that patients can wait inside for their appointment.  We have also created more routine appointments by reducing the frequency of our cryotherapy and minor surgery clinics.

Work will also be carried out later this year to improve the waiting area and reception to make your experience at Lyndhurst Surgery a little more comfortable.

 Electronic Prescribing Service

The surgery is now able to send your prescription electronically to your nominated chemist. Please visit the pharmacy you usually visit and they will sign you up. This means you can order your prescription and then go directly to the pharmacy to collect.  Leaflets are available at the surgery with more information.

On line appointments and Prescriptions

If you would like to register for on line appointments and prescriptions please pre-register on the link opposite. You will need to call into the surgery, with photographic ID, to collect your registration sheet which will enable you to register and make appointments to see a GP, on line and now you can order your repeat prescriptions (UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE ANY NURSING APPOINTMENTS AT PRESENT).

Off to University??

You are now able to stay registered here at Lyndhurst even if you are away at University. We are also offering Men C vaccine to those patients who are in their first year of University and to those starting in September.  Please make an appointment with our Practice Nurse.

If you require urgent medical treatment and advice when the surgery is closed you should call

  111

For life threatening medical emergencies call 999

Whooping Cough

If you are between 28 and 38 weeks pregnant please make an appointment to have your whooping cough vaccine.

greepillsRepeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are computerised. Please allow 3 working days notice either by posting or dropping your request into the surgery.

We also offer an on-line service which is available on the home page. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS AS, EVENTUALLY, THE ORDERING OF PRESCRIPTIONS VIA THE WEBSITE WILL CEASE.

You will be required to attend surgery for a drug review with a doctor, and should you not attend after 3 requests to do so, your prescription will be withheld until you make an appointment.

For safety reasons we cannot accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.

Electronic Prescription Service.  If you currently collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit the practice to pick it up - instead your GP will send it electronically to the pharmacy that you choose (nominate), saving you time.  What YOU NEED TO DO - when you are next in your nominated pharmacy please let them know and they will sign you up.  It is a very flexible service and can be changed or cancelled at ANY time.

If you require further information please visit the website on www.systems.hscic.gov.uk/eps or visit the surgery and collect a leaflet.
